Recipe – Watermelon Cucumber Alcoholic Lemonade

Here’s a quick fun drink recipe for you! (^.^)

This Watermelon Cucumber Lemonade IS alcoholic so it’s meant for the 21+ crowd!

I put 20 oz of water in a glass mason jar. I mixed in one packet (1 serving) of 310 Lemonade into the water. Then I blended up cucumber slices and added 1/2 cup of the cucumber puree to the jar. Next I added a shot of watermelon vodka to the jar. I put the lid on, and shook it up really well! Lastly, I added 6 ice cubes to it to keep it cool while I sipped on it. And the final touch – my stainless steel straw which I *LOVE*! They are AMAZING for cutting down on plastic use and waste!

This recipe was adapted from my bartender friend who makes hers with regular store lemonade. I had 310 Lemonade sample packets I was waiting to try, so I figured I’d use them in this recipe!

You can use slices of cucumber if you don’t want cucumber puree chunks in yours. I like the flavor and the cucumber bits in mine so I blended it. (^.^)

You can add however much vodka you want, just remember that Smirnoff Watermelon Vodka has 65 calories per shot in case you are watching your calorie count! As the recipe is shown, the calories are approximately 90 per drink.

Review – California Winecraft Chateau Vanille and Sonoma Brew

I like wine and I like trying new drinks. What’s life without a little excitement? When we were at the store I found two of these California Winecraft canned wines and thought I’d give them a try.

The first one I tried was the Chateau Vanille. This has 6.5% alcohol in it and I have to say, I loved the flavor! It was a really great combo of chardonnay and vanilla. I enjoyed this drink and would definitely recommend it!

The second one I tried was Sonoma Brew. This one also has 6.5% alcohol in it. However – I did NOT like the flavor of this one! They mixed red wine with cola and it just didn’t taste good. Mr. Divine tried it and didn’t like it either. So two for two of us said nay on this one.

I’m not sure if this company went out of business or not simply because their wines were on clearance at our local grocery store and their website seems to be missing pictures. Also, no posts on their Facebook page for a long while. If they have gone under, you might not be able to find their drinks anymore.

If you can still find them, try the Chateau Vanille! Totally yummy drink for those who like a sweeter wine. (^.^)

Review – Blue Moon Beer Brewmaster Sampler

We picked up a 12 pack of Blue Moon beer for the weekend because it seemed to pair well with all the grilling we’ve been doing and the nice weather. We got the Brewmaster Sampler with summer flavors including: Summer Honey Wheat, Belgian Table Pils, Belgian White, and White IPA.

Mr. Divine and I both liked the Summer Honey Wheat the best. Second favorite was the Belgian Table Pils. The Belgian White was third. The White IPA was last. Very, very, very last. Neither one of us liked it’s flavor at all. It is very strong and very bitter. We both had to force ourselves to drink it.

I am no beer expert by any means. I know little about the beer making process and all the ways beers get their flavors. What I can tell you is that the White IPA had a taste we did not like. I didn’t taste any of the yummy things listed about it on Blue Moon’s page. It was just unpleasant.

The Summer Honey Wheat had a much lighter taste that was the best to drink. We’ve been looking for it in a pack alone because we liked it so much. It is a great summer and warm weather beer, and was fun to drink with our grilled dinners and after dinner while playing League of Legends online. (^.^)

The Belgian Table Pils and the Belgian White were both good as well. The Belgian Table Pils felt more summery to me as well, with a flavor that seemed to pair well with spending time on the back patio. The taste wasn’t overwhelming in any way.

I enjoy beer especially during the warmer months so it’s an adventure to try new kinds. You never know what they will be like until you try them! You find some that you like and some that you don’t. The process is fun, especially with the more unique types of beer.We look forward to trying more beers in the next few months!
